The good news is there are a few simple lifestyle changes anyone can make to naturally lower blood pressure.
1) Exercise- exercise is probably the most efficient thing you can do to regulate blood pressure. It helps the heart and vasculature maintain flexibility and regular exercise helps the heart itself regulate blood pressure more effectively. Even 30 minutes of walking daily will help tremendously.
2) Cut Caffeine- upwards of 90% of American adults are likely using caffeine daily. While small doses might not be bad caffeine causes the peripheral vasculature to constrict which, of course raises blood pressure! Anything more that 1 cup of coffee a day is likely causing a spike in blood pressure that can last from 6-12 hours depending on how well the person’s body detoxifies caffeine. Yes, I said detoxifies. Caffeine is technically a drug that our bodes view as a toxin.
3) Take Vitamin C and Garlic Tablets- it is well known that taking 1000mg of Vitamin C along with 2-3 tablets of garlic daily helps relax and dilate the vasculature. This reduces blood pressure and combined with the 2 steps above can help dramatically lower blood pressure.
Bonus Tip: Studies have show chiropractic adjustments can lower blood pressure 10-15 points immediately after the treatment. Talk about a sweet reason to get adjusted 1-2 times per month!
