Bone broth is a super easy, inexpensive food that you can make that has protein, collagen and lots of vitamins and minerals. All it takes is some soup bones, some veggies for flavor and time!
Here is my recipe for making delicious, health promoting bone broth using beef soup bones.
What you will need:
2-3 pounds beef soup bones
1 onion, quartered
5 large carrots cut into quarters
1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
Put the bones, veggies and vinegar in a large slow cooker. Fill with water until just about full. Cook on high for 4 hours. At this point remove the bones and cut off the meat and fat. Save for soup meat. But the bones back in the slow pot and cook on low for 12-24 hours.
When done, allow broth too cool. Place in refrigerator until fat congeals on surface. Skim the fat off and discard. The remaining broth can be drank, used in recipes or stored for later use!
